Why School Age Care Matters for Your Little One

Why School Age Care Matters for Your Little One

School age care offers children a safe, fun, and enriching environment that operates before, during, and after school. But not all school age care programs are created equal or for that matter, offer the same diverse activities and benefits that top programs do.

In fact, school age care programs offer distinct developmental and formative developments when your child has the opportunity to explore topics like:

  • Free Play – Many programs are too structured, leaving children no chance to explore on their own. By giving children free time they can develop friendships, learn how to get along with others, problem solve, and let their imaginations run wild!
  • Outdoor Play – Children love spending time outdoors. During this time, children are able to play sports, dance, or explore our age-appropriate playgrounds as they please, giving them control over how they spend their time.
  • Music – Music is a great way to expand the mind and creativity! School age care musical activities might include musical games, music during nap time, and singing songs, among others!
  • Choice Time – The best school age programs offer choice time where children can work independently and pursue their interests. This means that children can learn while developing skills at the same time.

At Ladybug Child Care Center, our school age care programs allow your child to explore and play in ways they otherwise couldn’t. Contact us or request a tour of our Chaska or Waconia locations to learn more about our approach to school age care to determine whether or not we’re the right child care center for your “little bug!”
