UPDATED Ladybug COVID-19 Policies and Procedures
Posted on August 22, 2022 by Ladybug Child Care CenterSummer has gone by so quickly! You know what that means—the school year is just around the corner! We figured this would be a great time to provide an update on how we’re handling COVID-19 at Ladybug. Here are our policies and procedures as revised on 7/20/2022:
Student Tests Positive COVID-19
Children that test positive for COVID-19 will need to refrain from attendance for a minimum of 5 days from symptom onset. To return, the individual who tested positive must-see symptom improvement.
Asymptomatic individuals also must refrain from attendance for a minimum of 5 days. If an asymptomatic individual develops symptoms within their 5-day period, said individual must quarantine an additional 5 days and wait for symptom improvement.
If individuals who test positive would like to return on day 6, masks must be worn until the 10th day from symptom onset. If the family or child does not want to or cannot mask (due to age or otherwise) they must isolate from Ladybug for a minimum of 10 days from symptom onset.
Close Contact
Vaccinated children, that are exposed to COVID-19, do not need to quarantine. Parents and staff will need to monitor the exposed individual for symptoms followed by a test on day 5 after exposure.
Unvaccinated children, that are exposed to COVID-19 and are asymptomatic, must test to stay. This means the exposed individual must test in the morning prior to arriving at Ladybug. This test to stay period is 5 days from exposure. Please, be sure to come in prepared to present negative test results to the staff member present at the time of drop-off.
Unvaccinated children that are exposed to COVID-19, and that are symptomatic, must quarantine for 5 days from the date of their most recent exposure. Only with a negative test result on the 5th day from their most recent exposure may an individual return on day 6.
COVID-19 in the Home
If there is a case of COVID-19 in the home, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to quarantine. However, parents and staff must monitor for symptom onset and the exposed individual must test on day 5.
If there is a case of COVID-19 in the home, unvaccinated individuals must quarantine for 5 days from the date of their most recent exposure. Only with a negative test result on the 5th day after their most recent exposure may an individual return on day 6.
Masking Guidelines
Masks are not required unless otherwise stated in the above policies and procedures, but instead are optional for parents, staff, and students while at Ladybug.
Counting Days
Day 1 is the day after initial exposure. This means that the day an individual is exposed is day 0. And this count resets with each new exposure.
