Fun Snacks from our Scratch Kitchen
Posted on June 2, 2016 by Ladybug Child Care CenterDid you know that Ladybug Child Care Centers serve healthy, home cooked meals for your child’s breakfast, lunch and snacks?
Miss Jane, with her degree in Culinary Arts, plans each of our daily menus with the goal to introduce more vegetables, fruits and even different dishes to your little one. Here is an example of some of the fun snacks we make from scratch, plus a recipe for you to replicate at home!
This Triple Berry Bar was enjoyed in the Infant, Toddler A, and Toddler B classrooms for a snack.
And these Apple Pie Rollups were enjoyed in the Proddler, Preschool, and AdventureCentre classrooms for a snack.
You can easily make these Apple Pie Rollups at home with any pie filling. Use this simple recipe:
Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Tortilla Shells
Pie Filling (we used apple pie filling)
Cinnamon, Sugar, and Powdered Sugar
Directions:
Place a spoonful of the pie filling on a whole wheat tortilla shell. Gently spread the filling, roll the shell and place on a lined, gently sprayed cookie sheet. Repeat these steps to make as many rollups as you desire.
Place the cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes (just until filling is bubbling). Then take your rollups out of the oven and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar with a toss of powder sugar to your liking.
Our little bugs love these homemade snacks!
