3 Ideas For a Great Family Valentine’s DayPosted on February 8, 2022 by Ladybug Child Care Center
When you think of Valentine’s Day, romance is probably the first idea that comes to mind. That’s great! Mommies and daddies need date nights, too!
But if you’re not feeling up for it and you’d rather spend the time with your family, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, children appreciate being included in the holiday and it can give them great memories. Love is the most important piece of the family puzzle. What better day to celebrate it than Valentine’s Day?
A few ideas for a fun family Valentine’s Day…
1) Make Special Valentine’s Day Cards
You and your kiddo can make some fun, creative cards using construction paper, stencils, colored pencils/crayons, and glitter. A nice addition to the project could be to deliver the finished cards to aunts, uncles, and grandparents to see their smiles and happy tears!
2) Bake Heart-Shaped Meals & Treats
We all know the classic heart-shaped sugar cookies (yum!), but you can also create heart-shaped meals. If you’re looking for Valentine’s dinner ideas for your family, pizza is a great option that everyone usually agrees on. Ingredients like Pillsbury pizza dough are flexible and easy to work with and can result in a great heart-shaped dinner.
3) Create Gifts & Fun Crafts
Macaroni crafts are classic homemade gifts, but another idea is to put strings through the valentine’s crafts and hang them in your little bug’s room or doorway. This will help remind them that they’re special beyond Valentine’s Day.
These are a few ways you can make Valentine’s Day a great family holiday. Customize it however you want and have fun! As long as you’re enjoying quality time, you win!
If you and your partner want the best of both worlds, you could designate one night as your romantic Valentine’s date and another day as your family Valentine’s celebration.
